OPEN WATER DIVER - $325

Deposit: A deposit of $100 is required to secure a spot in the class.

Equipment: All scuba equipment is furnished. However, students do need to furnish their own mask, fins, snorkel and booties.

Swimming ability: Students are required to have a basic swimming ability and to pass an entry-level swim test during the first class. The swim test consists of:

1. 200 yard surface swim
2. 25 ft. underwater swim (the width of a standard pool)
3. 10 min. float/tread water

Age Requirements: Students must be at least 15 years old (12-14 for Junior Open Water Scuba Diver) by the beginning of the class. Students 15-18 years old need parental permission.

Medical Questionnaire: A medical questionnaire must be completed prior to the first session.

Course Schedule:
Total course time is 36 hours. The class runs for three weeks (6 pool + 2 ocean sessions). Classroom and pools hours are held on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 5:30-9:30pm at the Hidden Oaks Club House. Open water training is held at various locations depending on ocean conditions. Please note the final ocean class is held on a private charter to the Channel Islands. All classes are mandatory. No makeup time is available. The class schedule is as follows:
